Aims and scope
The Journal of African Epidemiology and Public Health Sciences (JAEP Health Sciences) is a peer-reviewed, open access journal dedicated to advancing knowledge and practice in epidemiology, public health and health sciences across Africa and beyond. The journal welcomes original research, reviews, commentaries, and other scholarly articles that address the distribution, determinants, and prevention of disease, as well as strategies to promote health at the population level.
JAEP Health Sciences places particular emphasis on studies that explore:
The social, environmental, behavioral, and occupational determinants of health and disease
The design, implementation, and evaluation of health policies and interventions
Public health practices and outcomes across diverse African settings
Research relevant to global health equity and human rights

Submissions must demonstrate scientific rigor, ethical compliance, and relevance to the field. JAEP Health Sciences evaluates manuscripts based on methodological quality, clarity, and contribution to public health knowledge-not on perceived novelty or potential impact.
JAEP Health Sciences accepts manuscripts that are both clinical in nature and within the broader scope of epidemiology and public health.
